Beach Accessories and Jewellery for Men

What is the difference between a man wearing a watch, a tie and a stainless steel bracelet and those who wear no accessories at all?

Some men still see jewellery as a threat to their credibility and manhood and we can’t really blame them when we think of those young boys who wear chunky earrings, necklaces, rings, bracelets, belts and silver knuckle dusters.

Everybody is at liberty to wear whatever accessories they like, but if you are a man who would like to complete his outfits without ending up looking immature or, even worse, tacky, there are a few simple golden rules that you should keep in mind.

First, remember that there are accessories for every occasion.

You might think that a pair of swim shorts will suffice when you go to the beach. That’s not true.
Sunglasses, bracelets, watches, necklaces, backpacks, beach totes, hats and sandals are all beach accessories that you should choose with care, as a man who knows how to wear them and is not afraid to stand out from the crowd showing confidence, boldness and courage: all virtues that women value.

Starting with sunglasses, you should choose blue lenses, as they provide optimal retinal protection and look very trendy as well. The most common materials used to manufacture sunglasses are polycarbonate and CR-39, two types of lightweight, yet durable and resistant plastic.

They are then treated with a UV coating that will protect your eyes from harmful UV rays.

With respect to shape and size, if you have an rectangular/square face, you should minimize the width of your face by choosing for sunglasses that add length rather than width. Therefore, make sure your chosen sunglasses are not as wide as the widest part of your face.

On the other hand, if you have an oval/round face, you should choose sunglasses with sharp and angular lines in order to sharpen your head shape.

Get yourself a beige, blue or black tote bag or backpack to carry your sunscreen, hat, t-shirt, mp3 player and so forth…

By choosing neutral colours, you will be free to wear both sober and boldly-coloured swimsuits without having to worry about a thing because all of them will match your tote bag.

Footwear is always tricky when it comes to men, as, unlike women, they are more reluctant to compromise on comfort for the sake of fashion.

That is why we recommend Ipanema, a Brazilian flip-flop manufacturer that offers a wide range of comfortable, yet trendy flip flops. Ipanema’s flip flops, in fact, are made of eco-friendly materials that adjust to the natural lines of the foot and, last but not least, do not cost a mint.

Regarding jewellery, you might want to wear a waterproof watch when you go to the beach and remember that stainless steel watches are always in fashion.

I preffer to wear nothing rather than the wimpy jewels posted on this entry.

I like to wear heavy, solid and chunky silver jewellery and I am not immature or tacky. If I can’t wear this kind of jewellery for a certain reason, I prefer to wear nothing. If the reason is the work, OK, I will wear my jewels outside the work.
