How to choose the right swimsuit?

After having analysed and described dozens of swimwear brands, I think it is time to change subject for a while and focus on something that really concerns a lot of women: how to choose the right swimsuit.

Considering that summer is pretty close, we’d better start looking at ourselves in the mirror and identify our weak and strong points, as every woman has both of them…except for a few Hollywood Celebrities, but that’s because they have the possibility to work out all day long and hire top experts who really make miracles, while us, mortal women, have school and office chairs that await us everyday, along with our children, everyday problems and so on…

So the first thing to do is be honest with ourselves:
What needs to be hidden and what can we show off?

Fortunately for us, swimsuits come in all sizes, shapes, colours and patterns.
So let’s make some strategy together and arm ourselves to find the perfect swimsuit for our body shape.

If your torso is not really tonic, a tankini will surely solve the problem. A tankini is composed of a regular bottom and a tank top. Now, I suppose every woman wishes to look hot and super sexy in her swimsuit and that is why I suggest you opt for one of those tankini with padded cups, as it would push up your breast, still hiding your “weak point”, or for a monocolour monokini, which is sure to enhance your hips, providing a one-piece coverage on front.

On the other hand, if you have a real complex about your thighs, bottom and hips, there is a solution for you…actually two: skirted bottoms and euro shorts. They look fresh, stylish, original and really let you hide the parts of your body that you don’t like.
However, if you think you belong to this category, I suggest you listen to “I like big butts” by Sir Mix a Lot, as it would really increase your self esteem and probably make you pass to our next category.

Did God bless you with long tonic legs, a fantastic bottom and a flat stomach? You are the right candidate for a Brazilian bikini. The Brazilian cut bottom is actually designed to emphasize your curves, leaving very little to the imagination.

Now, let’s get a little more technical and specific.

Do never underestimate the power of colours. By choosing a solid coloured swimsuit, you will divert attention from your round hips and belly. Go for a total black look if you wish to minimize your figure, as it does not reflect the light and actually blurs your silhouette, making you look thinner and taller.

Do not wear horizontal striped bottoms, unless you want to look like JLo’s fat sister. If you really can’t live without stripes, however, you may opt for a horizontal striped bra and a vertical striped bottom, so that your chest will look ampler and your lower half slimmer.

So, are you ready for some wise shopping?
