California

California, also known as the Golden State, is the most populous state in the whole US.

It borders Nevada to the East, Arizona to the Southeast, Oregon to the North and its coastline is washed by the Pacific Ocean.

The state is mainly appreciated for the variety of its territory, which ranges from the long coastline to the Sierra Nevada Mountains, to the many forests that dot the east of California, to the Mojave Desert.

Its most important cities are Sacramento, California’s capital, followed by Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco and Fresno, which happen to be the most populous and largest cities in the whole state.

The climate is quite rainy and varies from Mediterranean to subarctic, so make sure you check out the weather forecast before booking your flight ticket.

The Americans love living by the coast and reports show that more people are moving to coastal cities everyday. It goes without saying that California is one of their favourite destinations, due to its amazing coastline and unpredictable weather that many appreciate.

What attracts people to California is probably the fact that cities like LA and San Francisco seem to have been designed specifically to let people do business during the day and have fun at night.

Their clubs, discos, restaurants and recreational facilities are known all over the country and the high likelihood of spotting celebrities wherever you go is sure to be another big factor of attraction.

Focusing on California’s beaches, since tourists and locals love spending time by the sea, the state has invested a considerable amount of money in recreational services and facilities.

Depending on whether you are seeking relaxation or fun, here are some of the beaches you should not miss while in California.

  • Alamitos Bay Beach: this beach is not particularly known across the country, mainly due to the absence of hotels in the nearby. It offers some very nice spots for you to enjoy the sun and catch a tan.
  • Laguna Beach: it includes some of Orange County’s most beautiful landscapes. If you love surfing, this is a place you can’t miss, as you’ll get to meet surfers from all over the country.
  • Avila Beach: after the petroleum leaks you have probably heard of, this beach has been totally rebuilt and now it is ready to welcome visitors once again. Because, surrounded by hills, you will enjoy a fresh breeze that will help you stay longer in the sun and eventually catch a better tan.
